The College of Letters & Science at UW-Madison is happy to announce a scholarship opportunity for incoming freshmen intending to pursue specific STEM career majors. The Thermo Fisher Scientific STEM Scholarship provides $5,000 per year for four years to 4 outstanding incoming freshmen.
Eligible students must be planning on studying and majoring in one of the following areas: Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology, Geophysics, Mathematics or Molecular Biology. Students interested in pursuing a career in research rather than clinical practice are encouraged to apply.
Eligible first-year students planning to enroll full-time in the College of Letters & Science must have financial need as demonstrated by the FAFSA. The application will be open on November 2, 2020. Offers will be released in mid-March to mid-April.
The application contains short essay questions, an activities, awards, and leadership profile; and requires a recommendation from a math or science instructor.
